i read an interesting blog post by seth godin today, which inspired me to make this entry.

it seems as though nearly every person knows someone who has lost their job or has lost their own job due to “the economic times.” well for great advice, read the previously mentioned blog link. i’m not going to recreate or embellish mr. godin’s profound yet simple commentary, but rather add my own. you see, when you lift weights or workout … especially for the first time … it hurts. your muscles tear and your body is forced to do something it is not used to, but slowly you recover and begin to grow new muscle, burn fat, and ‘get in shape.’ no one can control this process but you. you have to make a decision to do it and stick with it. if not, then there will be no results. of course there are other things you can do to supplement this (proper diet, cardio, etc.) but you can’t expect to sit around doing nothing and expect to see something happen. get up. go tear some muscles. go learn something. be positive. be excellent.

ciamillo components, inc. has been my main client for the past 2 years or so until 2009. the economy was in a shift, the imminent ‘down season’ was looming, and the everyone’s job security seemed to be in jeopardy.

last november (2008) i started getting flooded with work, which was cutting in to the amount of time I could spend on ciamillo. since things were slow at the ciamillo shop, i was able to cut back on time spent there and focus more on other projects. since then my work has been increasingly diversified and ciamillo has hired an in-house designer who has taken over the web tasks. i’ve enjoyed creating the logos, websites, tradeshow designs, ad campaigns, and doing the occasional underwater videography, but it seems that it has finally fizzled out.

so as i write this, i am not currently handling any of the web updates or site refreshes. a number of the sites have changed or have been altered since i’ve been doing the work and because of this i’ve uploaded the latest versions that were caressed by my hands to the mds portfolio site. here you will find my versions of the subhuman project, lunocet, ciamillo, rom, and the latest cycling website.
