i read an interesting blog post by seth godin today, which inspired me to make this entry.
it seems as though nearly every person knows someone who has lost their job or has lost their own job due to “the economic times.” well for great advice, read the previously mentioned blog link. i’m not going to recreate or embellish mr. godin’s profound yet simple commentary, but rather add my own. you see, when you lift weights or workout … especially for the first time … it hurts. your muscles tear and your body is forced to do something it is not used to, but slowly you recover and begin to grow new muscle, burn fat, and ‘get in shape.’ no one can control this process but you. you have to make a decision to do it and stick with it. if not, then there will be no results. of course there are other things you can do to supplement this (proper diet, cardio, etc.) but you can’t expect to sit around doing nothing and expect to see something happen. get up. go tear some muscles. go learn something. be positive. be excellent.
